I seriously had a great time watching this film from the year 2000. It’s like from the future or something, we never do get a date but I think like 2060 or something, I really had a hard time paying attention to little details and I’ll explain why in a second. Read the rest of this entry »
I didn’t know what to think when I heard this was being made, I loved the original 2 Predator movies. Then those atrocities came out, Alien Vs. Predator and it’s sequel and possibly more, I quit counting. Really fucked up the whole series for me. I loved the premise, and I loved the video games, but those films were budget garbage. So how are they going to reboot the series and fix it with this?

Everyone knows what a huge fan of Entourage I am. If you didn’t well, now you do. Before Entourage, I had no idea who Adrien Grenier was. So the other day, when a friend of mine told me about a movie staring Adrien, where he does a shit load of LSD, bangs Sarah Michelle Gellar six ways from Sunday, and toss in some sex with Joey Lauren Adams, and the chick from the Noxzema commercial and some horror flick I watched once upon a time, and I’m sold.
I figure the title of this film comes from the William Blake poem entitled “Tyger”.

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry? In what distant deeps or skies

Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare sieze the fire?
And what shoulder, & what art.
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

SO the Mayans and others have it right, in the year 2012, the world is set to be destroyed by neutrinos that boil the earths mantle into palpable goo, and we all die, well not the rich and useless, they get to live. Image semi-related its an evil Chinese commie overlord out to let everybody die somehow.
Sean Combs as Record Exec. Sergio Roma, playing a parody of himself, and is possibly the funniest character in this film. After that, well its all gravy and cheese.
The war veteran, Ty Hackett, is hired to work as security guard by the Eagle Shield Security where his old friend Mike Cochroone works. Ty is having financial difficulties after the death of his father, and is raising his brother Jimmy alone. He teams up with Mike’s brother-in-law, Baines, and their coworkers Quinn, Palmer and Dobbs. One night, Mike invites Ty to join in the robbery of two armored trucks transporting forty-two million dollars. The reluctant Ty accepts after Mike promises that nobody would be hurt in the heist. –Stolen from IMDB, because this movie is fucking AWESOME!
The Social Network, the story of how Mark Zuckerberg single handedly created TheFacebook.com franchise and sold out his friends and ripped off anybody he could to do so, with his “hacker” skills, php and superior intellect. Awesome.
Josh Brolin plays Jonah Hex, DC Comics cowboy whatever blah. I can’t believe this piece of crap cost $47 Million to make.
I really didn’t know what to expect with this one. The DVD cover art looks like a SAW knock off or some serious B-Movie garbage. What I did find was quite unexpected.
